Another great series by these two。 Gene Luen Yang writes so true to the characters that you hear the voice actors in your head while reading。 And Guriharu's art is perfect。 Well done。 Another great series by these two。 Gene Luen Yang writes so true to the characters that you hear the voice actors in your head while reading。 And Guriharu's art is perfect。 Well done。 。。。more

Quality Rating: Four StarsEnjoyment Rating: Four StarsA satisfying conclusion to the comics exploring Zuko’s early days of power as Fire Lord。 I liked that the cast of characters was a little mixed from what we’re used to in the series, and it’s always interesting to see the relationships between people we rarely see in the same scene。 The politics and themes of the comic feels very reminiscent of Legend of Korra, so I wonder if there’s any crossover of staff or inspiration there。 Either way, it Quality Rating: Four StarsEnjoyment Rating: Four StarsA satisfying conclusion to the comics exploring Zuko’s early days of power as Fire Lord。 I liked that the cast of characters was a little mixed from what we’re used to in the series, and it’s always interesting to see the relationships between people we rarely see in the same scene。 The politics and themes of the comic feels very reminiscent of Legend of Korra, so I wonder if there’s any crossover of staff or inspiration there。 Either way, it’s an enjoyable new chapter in the Avatar series and well worth the read for fans of the tv show。 。。。more

Kiyi can bend?! YES!Zuko has become a great leader。I loved all of this。

I thought this one was definitely the weakest of this trilogy but still really enjoyable! This is probably the 2nd best trilogy of the graphic novels for me so far。

Ally Puri

A great ending to the mini series。 Loved the wisdom from Uncle Iroh。

Because the first two parts were so good, I think I expected more of the last one。 It was still good, but I was left somewhat unsatisfied。

KappaBooks

Maybe my second or third fave of the series so far?

This was a great ending and I can't wait to see where this leads us。 I needed to know more after the cliff hanger from part 2。 I want to know more about Azula and where her character arc is going。 Also I want Zuko and Mai to get back together, I like them together。 Is it bad to say that I kind of liked this story better with little Katara? Most of the plot points were wrapped up and we are given enough that we will want to continue on and read the rest of the series。 MVP: Ursa (That scene with h This was a great ending and I can't wait to see where this leads us。 I needed to know more after the cliff hanger from part 2。 I want to know more about Azula and where her character arc is going。 Also I want Zuko and Mai to get back together, I like them together。 Is it bad to say that I kind of liked this story better with little Katara? Smoke and Shadow is definitely my favorite ATLA comic so far。 It's nice seeing key characters that are not part of the main cast come together in them and explore their relationships with each other in new light。 I loved seeing Zuko interact with his mother's family, Suki, and Mai; as well as seeing Mai interact with her family and have an alliance with Aang (which we never really got to see on the show)。 I particularly enjoyed seeing Ursa and her relationship with Iroh, not as much as receiving Smoke and Shadow is definitely my favorite ATLA comic so far。 It's nice seeing key characters that are not part of the main cast come together in them and explore their relationships with each other in new light。 I loved seeing Zuko interact with his mother's family, Suki, and Mai; as well as seeing Mai interact with her family and have an alliance with Aang (which we never really got to see on the show)。 I particularly enjoyed seeing Ursa and her relationship with Iroh, not as much as receiving another cup of Wisdom Tea from our favorite Uncle, but it was very nice as the only chance we got to see them interact on the series was via a letter。 (view spoiler)[ Finally, it is AMAZING that the one person who gets to call Ozai out on his BS is no other than Ursa。 AMAZING。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

Each of these Avatar series' is so good! when the show was on TV more I wasn't really a big fan, but now re-watching it as an adult and reading the books has made me like it so much more。 Zuko is one of the best characters so I love that this focuses around what he has to deal with as Fire Lord。 Hopefully more books get published that have that。 Each of these Avatar series' is so good! when the show was on TV more I wasn't really a big fan, but now re-watching it as an adult and reading the books has made me like it so much more。 Zuko is one of the best characters so I love that this focuses around what he has to deal with as Fire Lord。 Hopefully more books get published that have that。 。。。more

Best part in the Smoke and Shadow trilogy。 I never really shipped Zuko and Mai, but this comic really emphasizes their emotional compatibility。We're left with a couple lose ends, mainly surrounding the aftermath of Azula and the Kemurikage。Overall improvement from part 2 with a wholesome ending。 Best part in the Smoke and Shadow trilogy。 I never really shipped Zuko and Mai, but this comic really emphasizes their emotional compatibility。We're left with a couple lose ends, mainly surrounding the aftermath of Azula and the Kemurikage。Overall improvement from part 2 with a wholesome ending。 。。。more
